Happy 3rd Birthday Evan!

You are 3! The best 3 years of our lives! We are so proud of you and so proud you are our son. I thank God everyday for choosing me to be your Mommy.

Your birthday was awesome! I got off work early and came up to school to have cupcakes with you and your friends. We sang happy birthday to you, and you passed cupcakes out to all of the teachers. Then we went to my work and you saw your birthday buddy and exchanged gifts and got candy from some of the residents. You, Daddy, & I went out to pizza and bowling. It was your 1st time bowling so that was special. We had a blast! You loved bowling and can't wait to do it again! In fact, you beat me! At dinner they made you a huge ice cream sundae for your birthday. What a wonderful day! That next Sat. was your party. SO much fun! You had a ball, and I will always remember the look on your face when we were all singing to you. You were so happy and blew out the candle excitedly. Precious. You got tons of cool Spiderman toys, a Captain America shield, Mr. Bob got you magic paint & markers, of course your Spiderman rain boots Amy got you, Ms. Lynn got you a cool Buzz flashlight, you got a remote control superhero car that you are a little scared of, oh - and Mommy & Daddy got you a new football outfit (Daddy picked out) to wear to your party. Also what we thought was a Spiderman big wheel - turned out it is way too small for you to ride on, but you don't want to give it up! (We are trying to convince you to give it to Colin for his birthday).

You were brave when you had 2 shots at your 3 year check up. You finally got your MMR shot and now you are all caught up. You weigh 29 lbs and are 34 inches tall ~ 25% for height & 50th% for weight. You began going potty at school again last week but sob when I put you on the potty at home so I asked Dr. Haddad if he knows any potty training tips. He said "no more diapers Evan". You came home and told Daddy what the Dr. said. Sunday I got you another potty, one we had saw in a book that is a froggy and low to the ground. You have 2 - one that sits on the regular toilet, and one that is like a chair and has a lever that you can push to make it talk; you seem scared and uncomfortable on both. Sun. after nap I showed you the new potty and told you I got you a special treat if you go on it. I put you on, no tears! About 1 minute later you went potty!!! You went 4 times that evening. That was yesterday, 1/29/12. Today you had the same pull-up on ALL day (even stayed dry during nap!)!!!! Amazing! Each time you go at school you get a sticker, each time you have gone at home you get a marshmellow. When we went to gym night tonight I was worried bc they only have regular toilets there. You stopped playing in the gym, told me you had to go, we ran to the bathroom...and you went!!! I can't believe how proud of you I feel; I think more proud than I have ever felt in my whole life. I can't wait to see what tomorrow is like. SO.VERY.AWESOME!!!! What a great way to start your 3rd year!

Last night being 2!

Well, I just put you to bed, the last time you will go to bed as a 2 year old. I can't believe it. It is bittersweet. As I laid you down I thought of 3 years ago, anxiously waiting to go to the hospital to be induced to have you and having NO idea how amazing it would actually feel to hold you and hear that 1st cry of yours. I have the chills just writing that. You are truly amazing and I think that thought pretty much daily!


You talk nonstop and have awesome language skills. You whip out the funniest things and keep Daddy & I laughing all the time! You are still Spiderman, and you rotate by telling me "I am Spiderman Mama" or "I have 5 webs". Its hilarious. Last Sunday for your birthday Amy got you Spiderman rainboots. You have not taken them off except for when you sleep. You look so adorable in them! You wear your mask and your boots and your favorite outfit right now is you Spidey shirt w/ jeans and your Spiderman belt Aunt Kimmie got you and your boots. In fact, I made sure all are clean for you to wear on your birthday tomorrow! You asked if I would come to your school and have cupcakes w/ all of your friends and teachers. I thought that was so sweet you wanted me there for that! I am going to leave work right after nap is over, then after we're done @ school we will go celebrate w/ your birthday buddy Barb at my work and bring her a cupcake and gift :)

Your favorite color is green.

Your favorite things to do are: play with army guys in moon sand, in the bath tub, on your train table, pretty much anywhere :), play with your Spiderman figurine, play football with Daddy, play cars with us on the floor, play doh, play in your playroom by your new fish, and go upstairs to do crafts or make me tea in your kitchen. You would stay in the bath for hours if I let you. Your usual is an hour - I have to warm the water up twice!

When I go places you always want to go with me which is an honor for me. I love it :) Even if I'm going somewhere that is boring, you want to go to be with me.

You love to ride Sandy the horse at Meijer.

We can now take you out to dinner and enjoy it. You sit nicely and play with your toys.

You are great with your manners and most of the time remember to say please and thank you.

Your imagination is amazing and you make up some pretty hilarious stories!

You love playing with Alex & Kyle, they are your favorite play dates. Although Chelsie & Grant are a close 2nd!


You recently started really playing with people for long periods of time.

You love doing things by yourself (ie: taking your clothes off, getting your hair wet in the tub)

Your chores are thowing your clothes down the laundry shoot at the end of the day, feeding Salsa, and putting more litter in after I clean her potty box, and giving Max his medicine. You are my best helper ever!

We are inviting your close big kid friends that have been in your life since you were born to your birthday party which is next Sat. at a new bounce house place near our house. You are so very excited. (So am I!) Mimi & Bapa will be in Fla. so they will miss it but Aunt Kimmie, Uncle D, Alex, Kyle, Grandma, Aunt Missy, Colin, Lisa & Jay, Colin, Owen, Claire, Amy, Chelsie, Grant, Riley, Tracy, Haley, Lacey, & Jill will be there!
