This Easter was tons of fun. E got really into the egg hunts and talked about where the bunny was going to hide his basket. He would say a different spot every time. (The bunny hid it in his toy closet). Very cute. We went to an egg hunt at the high school. He sat on the Easter bunny's lap and although seemed a bit nervous, smiled for the picture and gave him 5. It only took me telling him once to get as many eggs as he could and we would look through the candy after all the eggs were gone. He was super speedy which was hilarious. We went to another egg hunt the day before Easter with Alex & Kyle. On Easter Mimi & Bapa had an egg hunt and hid E's basket. He was addicted to candy all wkend. It was literally all he would eat and would have total breakdowns when I told him no more candy. oh my! Fun times and good memories :)
In 2 days it will be May 1st. Time goes by so fast. Even more so when you have a child. Last year at this time it was jumping up every time E went by the stairs on the deck and staying close to his side in case he fell off the climber. In just a short year he is now a pro at going down the deck steps (although needs to be reminded to be careful sometimes) and can be on the other side of the yard playing ball while I'm on the deck. Its truly amazing. I noticed recently since he is getting more independent and heavier I don't carry him around everywhere with me. Its bittersweet. While I love this age, and love that he is becoming more independent - I miss having him always on my hip. I've also began to think about another baby and what would be best for Evan. I see Alex and Kyle play together - 3 years seems to be a great number of years in between kids. But then the fear comes in, the what ifs that things get complicated again. But I know I can't think like that. In the big picture I believe E should have a sibling to grow up with. My sister turned into my best friend and I can't imagine being an only child BUT still...scary because of what we have been through. We just have to be brave and trust that all will be ok when we do decide to try again.
New things:
E is beginning to have "two year old" issues: he has always been a star student at school (we call daycare school). Lately he is throwing toys and screaming when he gets mad at friends, etc. His teacher told me today they are working on him using his words. We have been working on the same thing here at home. I had a talk with him about it on the way home. I'll remind him before school not to throw toys and to use his words and we'll see if that has any effect on it.
His language is amazing - he basically talks like a big kid now. The sentences he puts together are so smart. And he, as always, is so so funny! A while ago when we were in the car I said be careful Maxipoo when Max fell off the seat a bit at a stop light. Weeks later when we were in the car E says "be careful Maxipoo". Hilarious!
Favorite sport: golf for sure! Sleeps with his golf club and ball and golfs inside and out. Brings it when we walk at Genesys and golfs in the field afterwards. He also has quite an arm and I think will like baseball too. He likes soccer a bit too (I hope so, I love soccer too!) and says he is going to play hockey when he gets bigger. I hope he keeps his love for sports - it will help him be busy and focused in his school years.
E has been on a food strike. He recently had double pink eye, ear infection, and sinus infection. He was quite happy though that. Less than a week later he vomited during the night in his crib and had a fever of 102 :( Lasted a couple of days. Grandma came to watch him the 2nd day and the 3rd day (today) he went back to school. Poor little guy can't catch a break. This virus seemed harder on him than all of those infections. For dinner tonight I believe he had 5 pepperonis and 3 vanilla wafers. Still not feeling up to par I guess.
Favorite friends: Bobby from school, Alex & Kyle are the ultimate favorites still, and Chelsie. Loves Ms. Tonya at school, plays hard to get with her lately which is super funny.
Enough Mommy rambling - perhaps I will look back and read this in 20 years and be like wow, really? But even so, I'm glad to be able to document the little details of our life :)

Absolute Cuteness
4/05: We are watching TV and a commercial comes on for Petsmart saying their fish are 1/2 off this week. I say "I want to get some fish". Evan says "you want goldfish Mommy?". I said yes and thought wow that was smart - I didn't know he knew what type of fish there are. He immediately got up and came back into the bedroom with the box of goldfish crackers! He had gone into the pantry gotten them. SO thoughtful and the cutest thing ever! This morning we were ready a little bit early and I had won a free coffee from T Horton's so I asked E if he wanted to go get a special morning treat before school. He was pumped...he LOVES donuts! I told him we could get his friends donuts too. He said "I want BIIIIG (said in a deep voice), and my friends can have little (said it in a tiny voice)~ he wanted a big sour cream glazed donut and wanted to get his friends timbits! And that we did! Adorable!

Why?
I was JUST thinking the other day as I heard a kid in a story say "why?" that E doesn't say that. Not more than a couple of days later it began! Asks "why" a TON and "where's that come from" (this one is my favorite!). Life just can't get any better - LOOOOVE being a Mommy!!!
