Happy 1/2 Birthday!!!

Goodbye swing, hello baby food! What a week...I was incredibly teary-eyed when I realized your swing no longer rocked you back & forth (I'm still in denial actually - maybe I'll come to terms and put it away this wkend)- then days later you turned 6 months and now its time for you to try your first bite of food (we are starting with yellow veggies, then orange, then green - we went to the store tonight to buy all these "Gerber 1st foods"!). Your personality blooms more & more every day and it is incredible. You are smart, hilarious, adorable, and sweet. You are a wild boy - just like I thought! But you are also a cuddler, which I love just as much. You love music...your favorite songs are: Hokey Pokey (when I am changing your clothes), Twinkle Twinkle (when you are about to go to sleep), Ants go Marching (when you are eating your bottle) - this one just melts my heart - you smile and look at me so sweetly like you are saying "I love this song Mom". Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes - you anticipate the end when I tickle your belly and giggle right before I do it. Today you had your 6 month well baby check-up - you are in the 10th% for weight - 15lb12oz, and the 75th% for height - 27"! You are sooooo strong its unbelievable. One night last week you sat up by yourself for 3 seconds, then the next night for 11 seconds! You are so close to mastering that! Today you had to get a shot, you fell asleep and was horribly woken up by a poke in your little leg :( You didn't cry for long, and had lots of smiles for the nurses after. You are so brave, I was incredibly proud of you after. But that's nothing new, I'm proud of you every day! You roll around the entire living room, it is seriously the funniest thing. In between you stop to play and check things out, then get bored again and roll to a different place. Max is your best friend by far. When we get home every day, he looks for you and you for him and when you see him you smile so big! You have no teeth yet but I wouldn't be surprised if they start coming; you have really been teething a lot this week. More big milestones - you took a nap for the first time in your crib about a week ago...then over this past wkend you took another one - this time for an hour and 15 minutes! You sleep like a big boy on your belly now, sometimes with your cute little tooshy sticking up. Pretty soon you will be sleeping at night in your big boy crib. Right now you are spitting up a lot at night so we have to get that fixed before you make the big move. I think you will sleep a lot better in your crib but boy will it be hard for Mommy not having you right beside me! (The Dr. wrote a script for Zantac today for your spitting up at night...said he wants to see you back in a month to check how it is doing. He's hoping when you have baby food + your cereal & less formula that it happens less). Your favorite thing is to be on your belly - as soon as you are put on your back, no matter where you are - you immediately flip over and pop your head up like a turtle, then smile. I wish I could capture your personality in words, it is just amazing! You are fussing in your cradle now - poor littles, maybe you are uncomfortable from the shot? Think I'll make your bottles for tomorrow, get ready for bed and cuddle with you. Its 9:30 on a Friday night, so so happy about that - 2 whole days straight with you starting tomorrow!!!

I'll post some pictures of you soon on here so your far away Great Grandma, Great Grandpa, Great Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends can see you...I'm guilty of not doing much except spend every single second playing with you and taking care of you when I'm not at work so I've lost touch a bit - still getting adjusted to being a working Mommy - I still miss you a ton. Even though I love my job after a certain amount of time of being away from you my anxiety level gets high and I can hardly wait to leave and pick you up. But I'm getting used to our schedule and slowly finding time to fit everything in again :)
