Happy 4 months Little E!

Our computer is making Mommy mad so there aren't week pictures, they are in your hard copy week pics book though!

Week 13: I took you to the Dr. today, you still have thrush and are not yourself...not eating as much as normal, not sleeping well, still happy but very fidgety. You have a little cold and are gonna be on thrush meds for 2 more weeks to get it out of your system. You weigh 13.06lbs! My big boy :) I felt so bad for you at the Dr. today - you were so so tired and wanted OUT of that little room. We waited for what seemed like forever. My poor little man, back to newborn nights for us...you are waking up every hour and not eating well. I'm hoping you feel better soon buddy! April 21st...WOW today was FULL of milestones for you! We went over to Mimi & Bapa's to play and you laughed at Bapa...you have laughed before a little bit but this was bigger than you ever have, it melted me. Then less than an hour later...yet another 1st for you, REAL tears. You have never had tears when you've cried - your eyes get watery but this time when you decided you wanted a snack stat you had big crocodile tears! Just hours after that - the biggest milestone of the day - - YOU ROLLED OVER!!! What a super strong man you are - you rolled from your back to your belly! I'm not sure what you thought of it because I picked you up and twirled you around screaming, but we'll see if you do it again tonight. It was so exciting!!!

Week #14: You are super strong...nothing new, we've known this from the start, but you're really showing off this week! When you lay on your belly you scoot. Its the wildest thing, we've never seen a baby so young do this. You scooted all the way off your blanket on the floor. You have mastered rolling from your belly to your back but still don't have the hang of rolling from your back to your belly. You try really hard, but so far have only done it twice. I took you to the Dr. again this week, this thrush sure doesn't want to leave you and you've been running a temperature for almost 2 weeks now which has us worried. They put a little "cup" on you and tested your urine and it came back negative and the Dr. says you look super healthy so we're just gonna continue to monitor it. You have had no other symptoms - you're just your happy adorable self :) This week your curiosity has really hit its peak. You are so nosy, it is hilarious! Its almost to the point where we have to go in a dark room to feed you because you just want to party all the time. You talk and smile and strain your head to look at everything around you. Oh, and you think you are a big boy now too - you constantly want to sit up. If you are laying in our arms, you cry and we sit you up and you smile like "hey thanks, I'm not a tiny baby anymore now...I have things to see people!".

Weeks 15 & 16...whoops guess I forgot to document your 15th week, hope you don't mind that I'm doing 2 weeks together! Well, in my dream world you will be a nice sensitive teenager that will want to read this, but you may not care about my ramblings :) We belong to a parents as teachers group and your educator came over and you passed all your milestone tests with flying colors. Let's see, you love baby Mozart - you usually watch it a couple times/week now and talk to the little dog puppet on there. On May 13th you tried rice cereal for the 1st time! For about a week I just put 1 tbsp in your before bed bottle. It didn't make you sleep longer, and you didn't seem to notice it was in there. May 14th you went in the exersaucer for the first time and loved it! You also love going in your bumbo and watching me clean the kitchen. You now notice Max and love to watch him. We went over to our neighbors house and you not only love them but also their 3 dogs. You didn't know whether to watch their huge tv or look at the dogs. May 15th - my poor little gentleman, I took you to the Dr. today b/c your cold has moved to your chest and you sound wheezy and it turns out you have tonsillitis. Your Dr. can't believe you are eating well - your throat is swollen, red, & pussy. I asked your Dr. to look at my throat b/c it is sore and I have a bad throat infection too. So I guess we are sickies together, we are both on amoxicillin. You are so happy I never would've known about your poor little throat. You are such a good boy, Mommy had to go to the Dr. after you to get a prescription and you just hung out in your car seat while I got checked out. Welp, it won't be just you and me anymore during the day buddy :( Mommy got a job. Its great though - its the job I wanted, its a nice change for me and sounds like a great company and a fun job AND the best part is that its only about 25 hrs/week for a while so I'll only be gone from you 5-6 hrs every day and Friday's for only 3 hrs. Even better - you will have people watching you that genuinely love you. Mimi 1 day, Aunt K 1 day, Shay 1 day, and once Grandma gets out for the summer she'll have you the other 2 days. We are very blessed to have family and a close friend taking care of you. It puts our mind at ease. And you have tons of fun with these people and love them already so its great. But there's still that part of me that is very sad - I love being the only one who takes care of you all day long. I'm secretly hoping we have 1 more week alone together and I don't start for at least another week or so! :)

4 month check-up: 14.05lbs (50th percentile) & 25" (50-75th percentile). so exciting!!!

Your 3rd month of life

You are 3 months old now. Wow, did I really just meet you 3 months ago? What did we do without you? Now I know what people mean when they say that. You are so awesome and life with you gets more fun every day!!!

9 weeks: Daddy went to Chicago this week for work so it was just you, Max, and I. You had a rough beginning of the week. You tried 3 days to poop, it was horrible. You finally went, it was so hard and hurt you so bad to go. Mommy was so happy that you finally went that I cried. Who would've ever thought I would cry over poop! You were so happy after! We stayed up late watching shows I DVR'd. We just layed on the couch together cuddling, it was the best. You weren't sleeping, just so content laying on me. Priceless. Gosh, this week was so emotional for me. I was going to stop nursing since I've tried everything and my milk never came in, but after a day I was too sad, so for now I'm still pumping. But just twice/day - you don't nurse anymore b/c you want your food NOW and don't want to work for it. That's fine though, I understand. Its time for me to find a job and go back to work. This breaks my heart. I had a couple of interviews and I go for a 2nd interview next week. I know its best for us, but the thought of not being with you all the time is horrible. You have been fussy every night this week, mean formula makes you so gassy. But you've also pooped without pain for the past 3 days, every day, and it hasn't been hard. So, its working - just making your belly hurt :( We had lots of fun this week though. We've gone mall walking almost every day. That's been a lot of fun. We always sit in our spot by the fountain when its time for you to eat. You've started eating 4 oz every 3 hrs, although I have to really coax you to get that last oz and 1/2 down. You slept for 3.5 hours straight on 3/24! Wow, was that awesome. It was the cutest thing - when you woke up I looked at the clock and told you it was 7:30 and you smiled so big! haha. You met the kids Mommy used to watch when they were babies, Devin & Enya. You were gassy and cried for a long time while we were over there & Enya sang to you. You stopped crying and looked at her with tired eyes. It made Mommy cry, it was so sweet. Here is this baby I used to cuddle and sing to every day, now a little girl and singing to MY baby. It was such a tender moment. You also met Lisa's kids - Colin, Claire, & Owen. They took turns pushing you in the stroller and just kept on talking about how cute you are. When Daddy got home he couldn't believe how much you grew this week! He missed you very much. When he first started talking to you he walked out of the room for a second and you yelled then he came back in and kept talking to you and you just kept staring and staring at him. You really missed him! It was very cute to see how you recognize the 2 of us. What an honor to be your parents.

10 weeks: More milestones for you this week! Mommy's friend Lori came to meet you and she mentioned how you were beginning to reach for your toys. Wow! Ever since that day, I notice you are concentrating so hard and you look at your hand while trying to reach for your toy. Its really cool to see! You are a smart little guy :) Your personality continues to come out more and more each week. We now know your tired, angry, bored, or just want to be picked up cries. You began only eating all your bottles for Mommy. You'll drink 2 oz. and then act like your full when someone else feeds you...then I take you and you eat 3 more oz. In one way I love it, it reminds me that you and I share a bond that no one else does...but on the other hand it stresses me out. Mommy has to go back to work soon and wants you to be full and happy while I am gone. I went out with some friends one night this week for a few hours and you cried the whole time I was gone :( I was so sad. When I got home you melted into my arms and went to sleep. I know this is normal because I am your Mommy and right now you just want me but I get so sad when you are sad. I almost took a job this week then totally freaked out...Daddy and I decided that I will try to find a job working nights and weekends so it will just be us taking care of you, or if not us than family. Hopefully it works out.

11 weeks: You were quite the partier on your 11 week birthday! Daddy and I went out to dinner and you stayed with Mimi & Bapa. You stayed awake for the longest period of time in your whole life! You were playing, cooing, smiling and happy the whole time too! It made me so happy to hear that you had a great time while we were gone. You were swinging away when we got there, finally sleeping. The next night Daddy & I had a couple friends over to play some games and you sat at the table with us until 1am just content and awake, smiling at anyone that talked to you. Gosh, you are cute! I miss you even when I'm away from you just a couple of hours. Actually, when I'm home with you and you are taking a long nap I miss you too. Sometimes I just can't take it anymore and get you out of the swing and hold you. Today we colored Easter eggs together, it was so much fun! You bailed out and fell asleep before we were done but that's okay :) You tried your bumbo seat today too - you loved it! You're not quite old enough yet, your head was a little wobbly still but it was good practice for a couple of minutes to build your strength! Next week is going to be so much fun - you & I are going with Daddy to Chicago. We will play while Daddy is in training then at night we will party together :) I wonder if you will like swimming in the pool?! I can't wait to see!

12 weeks: Your new thing this week is smiling SO big every time I stick my tongue out at you and make a noise. This action I'm sure I'll regret doing once you learn to do it in a few months but I can't help myself, you think its so funny! You noticed yourself in a mirror for the first time this week and when I change you on your make-shift changing table at the hotel we are staying at you look in the mirror above it at me and smile and talk to me through the mirror. Its really cool to see you learning about things. This week has been awesome with you. I've been so emotional, so thankful for you even more if that is possible. Vacationing as a family of 3. That adorable baby that I normally comment about it MINE this time. It is so fun showing you off and at the end of the day its just you, me, & Daddy and its just awesome. You did fabulous on our drive to Chicago...I was absolutely shocked because lately you have absolutely HATED the car. We are so proud of you though - you didn't even cry at all!!! So, we've just been relaxin, you & I, until Daddy gets back from class then we go out to eat, you sure do looove restaurants - so much to look at! Your favorite so far is Red Robin :) We found a really cool mall that the 3 of us went to, and then you and I went back the next day. Well, you had this white spot in your mouth that spread the next day so we took you to a walk-in clinic. Poor little guy - you have a low grade temp. and are so hoarse. But you'd never know - you are still such a happy baby! You have thrush. The Dr. said it'd be hard to get the medicine all around in your mouth b/c it tastes so disgusting but nope - as always you are such a good boy and seemed to actually kind of like when I give it to you. You go to town sucking my finger. Silly.

Some of my favorite pics from the month...

Seriously, can he get any cuter?!

E is his Easter sleeper with some of his goodies from Grandma and Aunt Missy. Later on that day he got a basket from Mimi & Bapa that even had lots of candy for Mommy & Daddy! OH YA :) I think your favorite present was these little finger puppets you got from your cousins, Aunt K, & Uncle D...you LOVE playing with them. When I stop making them talk you yell at me!

Little man in the big city. Getting ready to go to downtown Chicago!

I miss my cousins!!!

(this post is written by Evan)

Well, my cousins were far away on vacation, living it up ocean-side. Mommy & I were so jealous. Now we are vacationing in Chicago so thats 2 whole weeks that I won't be able to see them! I'm having a bit of a hard time, missing them tons. I did talk to Alex the other day and that cheered me up. But today I was having a difficult time again so my Mom said to write them a letter.

Alex & Kyle,

I am the luckiest boy to have you as my big cousins! Alex, you are my favorite babysitter ever. I love your voice and as soon as I hear you I listen real close to what you are saying. When I was in my Mommy's belly you always talked to me so now your voice is one of my favorites. Kyle, you make me smile because you are so silly. I like when you make silly faces at me. I think when you see me next you will make me smile for sure with your crazy faces. Only a few more days until I can hang out with you - - yeay!!! You are my favorites. You guys are awesome and cool and the best ever! Check out this cat...minus his creepy eyes this is how I feel. See you soon - I love you Kikis & Beezies!!!

Meeting the Easter Bunny!

Yesterday, Saturday April 4th, we took Evan to meet the Easter bunny! It was so much fun! We timed it so he would be awake. He really studied the bunny. His bright blue eyes could not have gotten any bigger when he was staring at him. So funny! The photographer told us to try to make him smile. She obviously has no idea that as soon as you take a camera out E is completely mesmerized by it and will not smile. He is such a smiley baby but we have very few pictures of his smiles because there is no being sneaky with the camera with him - he instantly knows when its out! He was content just sitting with the bunny and was loving all the stimulation around him! I'm sure next year this won't be the case! Mike & I were so happy and proud - this was our first family of 3 holiday event :) Cheesy, yes but something we have been waiting to do for a long long time. Its the little things like this that just make us so happy and our life so full. It really made our day. Our adorable little man!!! (He got dressed up for the occasion and looked like quite the fancy gentleman.)
